Alexis Hombrecher
Alexis plays as the No.2 player for CURTC in Division 1 of the M&G National
League. The M&G National League has the fiercest competition and the best
players in the world.
An american by birth, he is presently studying for a PhD in Computer Science
at the University of Cambidge.
Alexis was a very promising junior lawn tennis player training in Germany where
he spent many of his early years. Alexis rose to be in the top 200 players in
the world, beating the likes of Tim Henman in his progress. He then decided that
he needed to pursue his studies more vigorously and came to Cambridge.
Alexis took up Real Tennis only two years ago and was recently nominated as
the most improved player in Britain. His game has progressed at such an astonishing
rate that he was able to take the British Amateur Doubles title in 2001. This
was no mean feat given that one of his opponents was the best amateur player in
the world (and past contender for the World Championship) Julian Snow.
Alexis is partnered in Division 1 by Rob Fahey the World
Champion and is learning a great deal from this fruitful partnership.
