CURTC’s Celebration would not be possible without the generous support of our Sponsors
You know your Pros are a tip top team when you find Peter clearing the chairs off the Blue Court at midnight after working all day with Scott and Kees to make sure the culmination of the 150th Celebration tournament and festivities went off without a hitch. When the hangover doubles crew rocked up first thing on Sunday morning (ahem, ok, it was 10am), both courts were back to their pristine best, not a champagne glass or Pol Roger cork in sight. Thanks Pros, you’re the best.

This year, we are doing things a little differently with a special Exhibition Match at 6:45pm as Alex and Sophie play in the Battle of the Varsity Captains. Please mark those diaries and plan to attend….
Does Kees out-act Jeremy Irons and Dev Patel? Or did the Green Court scenes get left on the cutting room floor? We’ve cleverly arranged for new movie The Man Who Knew Infinity to debut in Cambridge as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Green Court. With scenes filmed on the Green Court, and one or two other almost equally picturesque places in Cambridge, it’s one to watch. There’s a special screening at the Arts Picturehouse on Thursday 14th:

CURTC Finals Day, 2016, sponsored by Hannay Robertson Financial Planning
The Ladies were next as the 30’s were inquorate and the 20’s were still battling it out on the Green Court. Venetia D’Arcy definitely had her game face on and was not going to be accused of a slow start. Linda Fairbrother, giving away a few decades (but no points as this was a Championship Final) did start a little slowly and soon found herself one set down. The second set was a classic as Linda turned on the gas but Venetia kept winning the crucial points to thwart Linda’s fight back. Exhilarating stuff! By this time, the 20’s had decided on their Finalists but to see how that panned out, you’ll have to read the post below….. Larger versions of the photos in the Collage above…
