Following on from the epic success of the first team last weekend at Lord’s, the seconds were not to be outdone and performed outstandingly in Oxford at the weekend. CURTC launched two formidable teams at the enemy, led by fearless captains Jimmy ‘the beard’ Campbell and Amanda ‘stockings’ Murphy.
The Cambridge teams comprised, for the girls: Leah Bramwell (3), Emily Chadwick (2), Mia Lewis (4) and Amanda Murphy (1) (capt.); and for the boys: Jimmy Campell (1) (capt.), Matt Shaw (2), Oli Quarry (3) and Nick Worsnop (4).

As was probably obvious, our website was hacked. We have managed to remove the offending parts and have rebuilt it. Christie Marrian put in a lot of effort (with some help from me) to get the site back up and running.
The hacked website didn’t even fulfill what the hacker had intended: the spread of their virus progeny, as the changes to the website crashed it and brought it down. This means we probably were not targeted explicitly but were caught in the crossfire of a self-replicating virus that wasn’t quite as clever as it thought it was.
We have decided we need to tighten up on our security and our backup strategy so we can survive this sort of mishap more quickly in future; we are not able to guarantee we won’t suffer this sort of outage again, but we can hopefully make it less painful on us
In the semi-finals, Hugh Markus beat David Hope 6-2 and Richard Bowers beat Vix Harvey 6-2. Congratulations Richard and Hugh, we will see you on March 12th….
The Green Court is 150 years young this year so we are celebrating this April 14-16th, 2016. You should have received Entry forms and Details via e-mail. If you’d like a copy leave a comment including your e-mail below. Here are a few Celebratory PHOTOS
We’re planning on upgrading to crockery 2.0 in the club room, but what to do with all these old favourites? Any fans of retro crockery are welcome to collect a souvenir or two from the two tubs of rejected – sorry, previously loved – crocks and assorted stray tupperware which are under the table by the dishwasher. Anything left by Sunday Feb 7th will be removed and disposed of.
You Told Us….
