CURTC Head Pro celebrates another year. We’ll hazard a guess there’ll be a glass or two this evening in the Ludekens household.

Four of the club’s premier players contested the 20-29 category tournament on the Blue Court on Sunday 22nd March. The scene was set for some epic battles throughout the day with a mixture of finesse and power evident. A simple round robin format with each playing the others offered six titanic clashes.
Early matches provided the closest results (8-6 8-7 8-7) leaving the tournament organiser wondering if there would be a clear winner, and a selection of decision making strategies were prepared. Jimmy Campbell however had other ideas and made the final decision quite simple by winning all three of his matches to take the title. A deserved success.
Cambridge hit the road on Saturday 21st March and enjoyed the famous hospitality of Leamington Tennis Court Club. However Cambridge were less than generous on court thanks to wins from Charles Harcourt, Andrew Petrie, Nick Heath, Keith Beechener and Duncan Hannay-Robertson. Jeremy (5/6) Davidson gave the hosts some respite but fought hard and earned his dinner. We look forward to welcoming Leamington back at Grange Road, Cambridge on the same weekend next year.
